Not necessarily because the franchise has been suffering from fatigue under Sony's control in addition to that TASM2 underperformed domestically, though recouped its budget internationally. Also, I think Spider-Man is better off having the film rights reverted back to Marvel from Sony.
I think that Marc Webb is trying for a sinister six and then something bigger with the entire Marvel world (Civil War?).
The only reason that its only a trilogy right now is because Sony wanted to make sure mere three would work first- trying to avoid the Spider-Man 4 issue where they ran out of funding for a movie and ended up with a flop.
I think that the premiere of The Amazing Spider-Man 3 will come with it an announcement of further movies, given that the current trilogy is almost definitely going to be a great success.
not really but we'll go with that success thing ftm. I Don't think he can handle doing sinster six. However if a director had the balls enough and was also good enough to do say a movie on 2099 with a 2099 sinster six films, well i would set it p for about 5 movies with a uqniqe aspect on spider-man. As for thsi psoter, I hoenstly want to see this film with :iconLunstaVideos: as either writer, director or even migal hismelf!
I've seen The Amazing Spider-Man and the other 3 Spider-Man movies from both the perspective of your average Spidey-stupid moviegoer and the pov of a gigantic web-head. Average Moviegoer: Amazing Spider-Man had better chemistry between the actors, it looked more real, had better CGI, and better acting in general. SM 1-3 looked fake, "MJ" and "Peter" did not seem in love, the villains were kind of stupid and not scary at all, and acting was not always convincing.
Web-Head: SM 1-3 often stayed closer to source material of the Amazing series, but they seemed to focus on only one aspect of each character as opposed to their overall person. Like they focused on the nerd/gets beat up side of Peter rather than the quiet/could fight back but doesn't side. Plus they botched Mary Jane really bad, and I couldn't even tell that was Gwen Stacy sometimes. ASM was a more modernized version that stayed even closer to source material of the Ultimate series (replacing MJ with Gwen, though). The Lizard could have been made a little bit scarier and a little more truthful, but was not a bad representation at all. Captain Stacy disliking Spidey was wrong, and they could/should have given some things a lot more impact than they did in the movie (like the spider-bite).
Both have their strong and weak points, but I feel like ASM was a lot more balanced and had more depth to its characters. It was about Spider-Man rather than Peter Parker like SM1 was, and it represented both strengths and weaknesses of the characters. Even Uncle Ben, who had maybe 20 minutes of screen time max, you could tell that he had kind of a hot head and often disagreed with Peter, but cared about the boy like a father even if he did have difficulty sharing his feelings.
I am also very interested to see where Marc Webb goes with Peter and the rest of the characters in the next few movies, especially since he's tossing in MJ and Harry in the next movie. Plus he is assembling a miraculous cast and crew- Dane DeHaan, Jamie Foxx, Sally Field, Emma Stone? These are some big names. And the crew is equally as amazing (pun intented)- Dan Mindel (director of cinematography, Star Trek ID), Roberto Orci (also Star Trek ID), Jeff Pinkner (wrote Lost scripts), and Alex Kurtzmann (director of Star Trek ID)?! Also fantastic. So he is either planning something special in the future, or he really wants these movies to live up to their titles.
[I just skimmed throughout your post, nice job] XD my moms gone for the week and jsut caled me out of the blue XD I liek this debate we're doing, its pretty good.
I am not comparing either the original 77 TASM, The 2012 version [althoguth if you want me to compare TASM 2012 with a spider-man series i will compare it with its own name sake form 1977, but i can say 2012 has a better story, whiel 1977 has better effects], GLS, or The rami films together, mianly becuase thats stupid, even if you compare webbs ONE movie with ramis THREE films [thats not fiar to marc, or Sam, or anyone really IMHO.)
and sdisagree with you, you didn;t seem to really see it form "both eprsepctives" nither as a web head, but more o the line of average movie goer. oh I know in fact i still am shock for hwo many raciesit peopel are agienst Jamie Foxx as electro, I think he would eb interesting if he brings something good and new to the table, form what i am hearing, and tryign not to see sicne i have my own spider-man Pre-image series i am workng hard on, It seems leikt hey are recyling a lot of plot points form a few drafts of spider-man 2, Orchi-Kuztman well I ahve a love-hate reationship with those two. STID was meh, not a good picture but not an okay one iether, pretty much in the mix, it built itself up then quickly fallen apart by the end, we get it they are hard core trekkies, which isn;t a abd thing at all. Kahn was good and cumberpatch was awesome as ever, I Think Montebone would be please if he where alive. then agian i;m not a trekkie and could care less, I knwo they got Jeff Pinker who worked on fringe for the msot part, Lost is a terrible seires and i;m afriad it mgith go in that direction, doesn;t matter webb still isn;t that good that peopel try to make him be, he's more sotck if anyhting and thats not a bad thing, it's not good either and he should really do soem other things to build his profile up. big names are jsut that names, it all depends on if it works or not. the frist one was crappy [littlely between a bad film and an okay film] and I hope the 2nd one is a lot better. I liek the actors hemselves, minus a few issues with soem of them pout thats more nitpick if anything [ie. andrew garfield ISN;T Funny]
and i wasn;t rally being an ass are you sure sony has a 7 film limit/ deal with marvel? or is it a ten year deal? ebcuase usually its the latter of the two. Not sure how you go t the info but if thats true thats actully really interesting, and knoing that sony wanted to reboot the film anyways is well sad. If you like to know my opinons on Rami and other spider-man films well here it is: [link]
